Valentine's Day

Today was a very special day in our classroom because it was Valentine's Day.  We had so much fun!!  The students thoroughly enjoyed passing out their Valentine cards and candy.  We talked about friendship and what qualities make up a good friend.  We brainstormed ideas of what makes the "ideal" friend.  Then, each child completed a writing activity explaining their own definition of a good friend.  Some of the students writings are shared below.  Our class also played "Valentine" bingo and read some great books on this special holiday.  We had a party after lunch that included eating cake, chips, cookies, and of course we had ski to drink.  The day was great and the students displayed true acts of friendship.
